Migrate your website with Claude Code or Cursor
AI coding tools rebuild far more accurately from real HTML than from screenshots. Download your site as a ZIP, drop it into your project, and move it to the stack you want.
- The exact HTML structure, CSS and assets, not a guess from a screenshot
- Works on JavaScript-built sites and on dashboards you have to log in to
- One ZIP, unzipped straight into your project folder

Why AI coding tools need the real HTML
Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, Bolt and other AI coding tools are good at building websites. Moving an existing site to a new stack is harder. Give one a screenshot and it has to guess: the spacing, the fonts, the breakpoints, how the menu works, what the page says below the fold. The result looks roughly right and drifts in the details.
Give it your site's actual HTML and CSS and it no longer has to guess. It can read the structure of every section, the class names, the colours and font sizes in the stylesheet, the real text and the images, and rebuild the site in the stack you want: React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Tailwind or plain HTML.
That is what Download Any Site gives you: your website as a ZIP of HTML files with their CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts, captured complete, so pages built with JavaScript come through as you see them.
When this is useful
- Leaving a site builder. Webflow, Wix, Squarespace and similar builders don't let you export clean code. Download your site and move it to a stack you control.
- Modernising an old site built on a CMS or a theme nobody maintains any more, without losing the design.
- Client work. Redesign or migrate a client's site when they have given you permission but can't hand over the original code.
- Learning. Give an AI a well-built page and ask it to explain how the layout, grid and responsive rules work.
How to migrate your website with Claude Code
- Download your site. Paste the link above. Choose a single page, or the whole site if you want every template.
- Unzip it into your project, for example into a
reference/folder next to your code. - Ask your AI to rebuild it. For example:
Read the HTML and CSS in
./reference. Rebuild the homepage as a Next.js app with Tailwind. Keep the same layout, spacing, colours and responsive behaviour. Turn repeated sections into components, and use the images from./reference/images.
- Iterate section by section. Because the AI can open the original file whenever it needs to, you can ask it to keep one part exactly as it was ("make the pricing table match
reference/pricing.html") without re-explaining the design.
The same works in Cursor (add the folder to the chat context), Windsurf, Cline, Aider, or any tool that can read files in your project.
Your own dashboards and apps behind a login
On a paid plan, Download Any Site can use your own signed-in session for accounts that are yours or that you are authorised to access — for example the admin screens of your own product before you migrate it. Sign in in your browser, export its cookies with the free Cookie-Editor extension, confirm the account is yours, and paste them in. The cookies are used for that one download and never stored.
Only use sites you have the right to use
Download your own websites, and sites whose owner has given you permission. Copying another company's brand, content or design and passing it off as your own can break copyright and trademark law, and our Terms don't allow it. Site owners can ask us to act on misuse through our Copyright & abuse page.
What you get in the ZIP
Every page is saved as an HTML file, with the stylesheets, scripts, images and fonts it uses saved next to it and the links rewritten to point at the local files. Open index.html in a browser and it works offline. That is the same folder your AI coding tool reads.

What is in the ZIP
A clean, organized folder you can open, inspect and edit.
HTML for every page
The page exactly as you see it, including content built by JavaScript.
CSS and JavaScript
Stylesheets and scripts saved next to the pages, so the layout survives.
Images and fonts
Downloaded and relinked locally, including files served from other domains.
Links that work offline
Links between pages and assets are rewritten to point at the local files.

Frequently asked questions
Can Claude Code read the downloaded website?
Yes. Unzip the download inside your project folder and Claude Code can open every HTML, CSS and JavaScript file in it. Ask it to rebuild the pages in your framework, and point it at specific files when you want a section kept exactly as it was.
Does it work with Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable or Bolt?
Any AI coding tool that can read files works. In Cursor or Windsurf, add the unzipped folder to the chat context. In browser-based builders, upload the HTML and CSS of the pages you want rebuilt.
Why not just give the AI a screenshot?
A screenshot only shows what one screen size looks like. The HTML and CSS carry the exact structure, text, colours, font sizes, spacing and responsive rules, so the AI reproduces them instead of guessing.
Can I migrate a web app that needs a login?
Yes, on a paid plan. Sign in to the app in your own browser, export its cookies with the free Cookie-Editor extension and paste them in. The downloader then saves the pages you can only see when logged in.
Which websites can I use this for?
Websites you own, and websites whose owner has given you permission — for example a client’s site you are redesigning. Studying a public page for reference and learning is generally fine too. Republishing someone else’s content, brand or design as your own is not, and our Terms don’t allow it.
