How to use the Website Technology Checker

  1. 1

    Paste a link

Enter the address of the site you want to look up.

  2. 2

    See the stack

Get the technologies grouped by type, each with the clue it was found from.

  3. 3

    Plan your build

Use what you learn to choose your own stack, or to plan a migration of your site.

What you can use it for

  • See whether a site was made with Webflow, Framer, WordPress or custom code — useful when you plan a migration or quote a client.
  • Research competitors’ stacks: analytics, chat, payments and hosting.
  • Check that your own site’s analytics, tag manager and security tools actually load.
  • Qualify leads for an agency by the platform their site runs on.

Frequently asked questions

How does the technology checker work?

It looks for tell-tale signs each technology leaves in a page — file paths, script names, special attributes and response headers — and lists every match with the clue it found.

Why is a technology missing?

Some tools leave no trace in the HTML or hide it on purpose, and some only load after you interact with the page. The checker lists what it can prove from the page itself.

Can it tell what the back end or database is?

Only when the server says so in its headers (like PHP or ASP.NET). Databases and server code are never visible from the outside.

I want to move my site to a new stack — what next?

Download your site’s HTML, CSS and images with the Website Downloader, then give the files to Claude Code or Cursor and ask it to rebuild your site in the stack you want.

Is it free?

Yes, free without an account, within a fair-use limit per hour.
